The bakery itself is a star, offering irresistibly fragrant breads like the multigrain raisin bread adored by regulars, along with perfectly flaky croissants and delicate French pastries such as the Pain Au Chocolat and French Cream Doughnut. These baked goods come without the overwhelming sweetness found elsewhere, instead boasting a nuanced balance that truly celebrates the craftsmanship behind each loaf and pastry.
Breakfast and brunch here elevate the ordinary into the extraordinary. Imagine savoring a Smoked Salmon Omelette, where silky smoked salmon melds with creamy eggs, or the earthy richness of the Goat Cheese and Mushroom Omelette, each bite echoing the freshness of handpicked ingredients. The Warm Belgian Waffle is a morning hug on a plate, crowned with billowy whipped cream and a vibrant medley of fresh berries, inviting you to indulge without guilt.
The Dutch Mini Pancakes are arguably the highlight for many - fluffy, golden bites that melt on the tongue, especially when paired with whipped maple butter, powdered sugar, and sweet bananas. For those seeking savory satisfaction, the Chicken Mozzarella Melt tartine offers a perfect harmony of tender chicken, creamy mozzarella, and a subtle kick from housemade tomato-pepper jam, all on that signature rustic sourdough.
The menu’s thoughtful variety also features nutrient-packed options like the Avocado & Tomato Omelette—a creamy, zesty rendition incorporating fresh avocado mash and tangy tomato-pepper jam, paired beautifully with a petite salad freshened by marinated kale. For heartier appetites, the Quiche Lorraine serves up a comforting slice of buttery, golden crust filled with savory ham, Gruyère cheese, and fragrant leeks accompanied by crisp seasonal greens.
Dinings here is as much about ambiance as it is about food. Guests often remark on the warm and attentive service, which complements the cozy, bright interiors—perfect for a leisurely morning or casual brunch with friends. The peaceful yet lively atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to savor both quiet reflection and social moments.
Le Pain Quotidien’s beverage offerings stand out as well, featuring rich, robust coffees like the Large Cappuccino that perfectly balance the flavors of their food, enhancing each bite. Health-conscious diners will appreciate the fresh-pressed juices such as the Grapefruit Carrot Detox that add a refreshing, cleansing touch to the meal.
Customer experiences consistently underline the freshness and quality of ingredients. Jiahui Zhou praises the bakery’s multigrain raisin bread and flavorful salads made with crisp, fresh produce. Sneha Jain highlights the Dutch mini pancakes as tender and sweet perfection, while Marcel Muri celebrates the friendly, welcoming service that makes each visit memorable. Though some, like Natalie Chapin, find the avocado tartine on the pricier side, many agree that the overall quality and unique menu offerings justify the experience.
In essence, Le Pain Quotidien at Gayley Ave is a sanctuary for those who cherish authentic, wholesome breakfasts and artisanal baked goods served in a thoughtfully designed space. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, savor textures and flavors that linger long after the last bite, and feel genuinely cared for by a team passionate about quality food and heartfelt hospitality.
Foodwise this is a lovely place. We’d always love to get something from their bakery on our way home. Multigrain raisins bread is our all-time fav, their scone and flute are very good as well. For meals the smoked salmon avocado toast, chicken confit Cesar salad, and soups were decent choices and all the ingredients were very fresh. The waffle was also quite popular here, but it turned out to be a bit too sweet and solid. The caveat is that if you want to dine here, you need to have plenty of time at your disposal - you need to wait for the service and wait for food. We’ve been there twice for lunch and spent almost 1.5 hours each time (of course we hadn’t learned from the first experience). The staff are friendly and I hope that in the future they can become more organized =)
The Dutch mini pancakes were the star of the meal—light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. I added mixed berries along with the usual bananas, and it paired beautifully with the maple syrup and whipped butter. The sandwich and salad were both incredibly fresh, with the bread clearly baked in-house. The mushroom ricotta flatbread was another standout. A must-try if you’re visiting!
Le Pain Quotidian is one of my favorite chains. The quality of the coffee and food is excellent. I stopped in here on a cross-city trip and ordered a latte and a croissant. The croissants are some of the best I’ve ever had: flaky, soft but firm on the outside. A true delight. The baked goods are not slathered in sugar which is a welcome change from the usual coffee shop suspects. There’s also a couple actual cooked items on the menu you can order. The employees were all really kind, the seating area was clean, and the bathrooms were clean. Would definitely come by again next time I’m in the area.
Perfect start in the day! Our breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien was a tasteful experience. The diverse menu offered delicious twists on breakfast classics, satisfying all tastes. What truly stood out was the kindness of the staff. From the warm welcome to their attentive service, every moment felt genuinely welcoming. The Avocado Toast, was served promptly and a perfect blend of flavors. The staff's enthusiasm and helpful recommendations added an extra layer of joy to our morning. Great start in the day!
Loved eating here, the mini Dutch pancakes and crookie were DELICIOUS and the waiter was super attentive and sweet. However, I don’t recommend getting the avocado tartine. It’s quite expensive for very few toppings and not very much avocado.
The pastries are delicious; I had their chocolate chip cookie, and the banana walnut crookie which had a yummy banana flavor. I tried the breakfast bowl, but I personally wasn’t a fan. They used a lot of fennel seed and it tasted almost soapy because of how aromatic it was, so I couldn’t finish it. However my friend really liked their smoked salmon bread and iced latte. The mini dutch pancakes were also super yummy and I almost wanted to order another helping of them. And it’s very clean and pretty inside, perfect atmosphere to munch on stuff and chat with friends. Staff is also friendly, our waiter was attentive and accommodating.
Great food and a lot of options. The hot chocolate was amazing but the chai was just okay. The Dutch pancakes and Belgium waffle were spot on. My breakfast sandwich was good. I think there are better things to order though. Next time I’ll try and inlet, they looked amazing. We got some pan au chocolate to go and they were pretty good.
First time I went to a Le Pain Quotidien was in Bruges, Belgium. A year later we found one near us at Fashion Island, in Newport Beach. I've been multiple times to Le Pain Quotidien while in São Paulo. The service is consistently great across all units I've been to. The unit in LA, near UCLA, is quite nice. The service was fast, even though the place was full. Our server was friendly and attentive. As someone who avoids ultra processed foods, I appreciate the focus on wholesome and delicious dishes and drinks with careful selection of ingredients. I also find it quite nice to finish up a meal spreading a bit of jam on a slice of scrumptious bread. I love that they have jams around the restaurant for the costumers to help themselves.
